The rest of the lodge houses a large dining room and lounge, with a library and DSTV. Summers can be spent lounging by the poolside and soaking in the scenery. At night there are braais and drinks under the African moon.

Exploring the Surrounds

Step out of the lap of luxury and explore the local scenery. There are local game drives in the reserve that lets you see the natural world. Swartberg Lodge is flanked by the Swartberg Nature Reserve, a World Heritage Site. It offers an abundance of wildlife.

If you want to stretch your trip a little longer and explore the valley, there are many activities nearby to explore. The Swartberg Pass is one of the most beautiful mountain passes in South Africa to drive along. There are also the ancient Cango Caves to explore in Oudtshoorn, and Ostrich Farms to visit.
